Experimenter's upcoming exhibition Like Air, I'll Rise anchors itself within conversations about care, solidarity, and resistance. The exhibition will present 12 women practitioners, including but not limited to visual artists, offering a perspective on their interactions with their communities as well as moments spent in self-negotiation. It explores cycles of rupture and regeneration engendered by forces of structural inequality, power hegemonies, global conflicts, and moments of self-reckoning.
Like Air, I'll Rise draws its title from Maya Angelou's poem 'Still I Rise', and will have contributions from artists, activists, poets, dancers, filmmakers and collectives including Ayesha Sultana, Bani Abidi, Bhasha Chakrabarti, Emily Jacir, Jacinta Kerketta, Moushumi Bhowmik, Padmini Chettur, Sabika Abbas Naqvi, Sakshi Gupta, Sister Library, Samuho Collective and Yugantar Film Collective.
