Please apply with a short note of intent.Taking from Krishna Reddy’s practice that was deeply rooted in the innate interdependence and communion between nature and humanity, and within the backdrop of his ongoing exhibition in Kolkata, we are delighted to announce our upcoming Experimenter Learning Program Module XXV | To Live Like a Tree. Led by writer and leading scholar on Indian Plant Humanities, Sumana Roy, the module will explore the shared kinship between plants and humans through literature, art and science, nature walks and group projects.
Sumana Roy is a poet, writer and essayist. Associate Professor of English and Creative Writing at Ashoka University. She is also working on the Indian Plant Humanities project with the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability, Ashoka University. She is the author of two works of nonfiction, How I Became a Tree and Provincials, as well as Missing: A Novel, My Mother’s Lover and Other Stories, and two collections of poems, Out of Syllabus and VIP: Very Important Plant.
