Sohrab Hura’s portfolio of images B-Roll, spans over two decades of immersion in his lens-based practice and reveals a nuanced process of making photographs, ways of seeing and editing. Each image that is part of this folio is important in the making of Hura’s multidimensional work, even though they were not included in the final edit and hence the title – B Roll. Each photograph is accompanied by a text by Hura, that underscores a constant experimentation with material and methods as well as his ability to push beyond the medium and its limitations. For a photographer sifting through thousands of his own images and images made by others over the years, has led Hura on a journey uniquely his own. Without his B-rolls, none of Hura’s final works would have been possible. This editioned series of photographs offers a window into the thinking, effervescent, and distinct mind of Sohrab Hura.
B-Roll by Sohrab Hura is produced in aid of Generator Cooperative Art Production Fund. All proceeds from the sale of this portfolio will go towards the support of production bursaries in realising artists’ projects. Generator is a co-operative art production fund created by Experimenter Learning Program Foundation in collaboration with its artists and friends.
