Abstraction gains the form of a creature, a monster, an animal. The paint and stitching shifts from process to being, they are anthropomorphic. I utilise this way of working to bring to light the unraveling of different states of self, different psychological spaces that manifest in the smoke of the inner world. It keeps the registers in motion. Keeping body place and emotion in flux and within the boundaries of beings. It’s existential in this way. Laced with the gaze looking back at oneself.
