Screen printed over linen, this particular image on the way to Jebal Akdhar has solid belts of rock in different tones. On gradients that echo the slices of sediment that build up these mountains, can be likened to abstraction, horizontal lines permeating a surface. This is the first work I have worked on which has been stitched by another. And the scale of this embroidery has shifted the intimacy of stitching I have utilised before and on the smaller paper works. The three triangles in the centre echo the tonal gradients and n the landscape. Similar lifting language to basic: triangle means mountain. Placing it against the plywood element makes it almost cinematic, placing the landscape without a frame.
