Times of day is centered around bunkers, which has become a recurring theme in Vinoja’s work. The bunkers represent a journey—almost like a landscape—composed of moving lines that reflect both abstract and real elements. They depict motion, trauma, and the traces left behind by people constantly on the move. Through an aerial perspective, the work brings attention to shapes and forms that stand as signifiers for the bunkers or fragmented land, marked by borders. But these borders are not literal—they represent the invisible boundaries people face during displacement caused by the civil war. They show how people were forced to move, often leaving loved ones behind without time to wait. The work reflects the instability of such moments—marked by loss, urgency, and survival. The moving lines represent the constant flux—the search for safety or a lost homeland which Vinoja, like many others, had experienced while growing up in the backdrop of unspeakable violence. Recounted from memories, the work attempts to capture the emotional and physical movement people go through in such fragile, unstable situations.
