The original poster was of a shop promoting shows and waka poems (from Meiji, Taishō and Shōwa; the modern era). The imperial court preferred a ‘noble’ style of waka but subversive styles of waka (critical of the times) also existed.
Poster 01 contains the ‘Seven Evils Rules’ set out for women to avoid and men to use as grounds for divorce during the Joseon period - the inability to bear a son, disobedience to her parents-in-law, adultery, displays of jealousy, chronic illness, theft and loquacity.
