Experimenter presents Still/Moving in Pursuit of Form, a solo by Ayesha Sultana at Art Basel 2019, in an exploration of form, space, material and movement through a new body of work encompassing sculpture, drawing and painting. The project threads much of Sultana’s ongoing practice, delving into spatial modes of expression that cultivate attention or a way of looking, keeping in perspective her urban surroundings in Dhaka that are in a constant state of flux. For Sultana, navigation through the city becomes an exercise of understanding and finely balancing one’s own body in relation to the built environment, much as understanding the spatial occurrences and relationships between the works on view at the stand and their intrinsic mediums.
